Is it just us, or is there always a debate on what is more important. Whether it be the design of something or the actual installation in this case or actually building it. We could end the debate fairly easily as both parts are necessary to reach full completion. What we would venture to say though is that design does come first. There is really no way around that. As we have said in other areas of the site if a company wants to just start digging out of nowhere fire them on the spot!
Knowing the Area
The first thing that we are going to have to do is study the area that we are going to be working in. What we need to know is where an actual water source is. That is where we are going to inevitably going to have to start. In a lot of houses or even buildings, it is easy to spot where the water source is even without a blueprint of the place. For the most part, though we are going to want to see a blueprint of the place. Just to avoid all sorts of mistakes.
Here Is Where It Can Get Tricky
The starting point is something that is going to be given to us so there is really nothing we can do there. The idea behind having sprinklers is to make sure that we are able to cover the entire area with water. Yet, a lot of times we are not going to want to cover each area evenly. If we can take that into account from the design it can really help out. We say it can get tricky because a lot of times we are doing the planning on vacant land and we are saying that there is going to be a flower garden or a lawn there soon!
This is something that we also talk about in our commercial services page. We have had clients, mostly sports fields that are looking for a very unique design on their systems. Mostly they don’t want the pipeline running in one place or the other. These “special requests” are always going to be things that we are going to be open to taking into consideration. If we feel that we are not going to be able to fulfill the special request we will let you know. It is not something that happens often though!
How To Avoid Freezing Pipes
This is part that involves the design of the system and some help from you as an owner. Usually, we are going to have to dig at a very specific depth to give the pipes a better chance to be shielded from the cold. There are also simple things that you can do to ensure that this is not an issue that you are going to have to deal with. The typical things like not leaving running water in the pipes at night.
